The Roy Mitchell Memorial Trophy is awarded to the winning eligible pair of a handicapped tournament normally played on the first meeting in December. To be eligible both members of the pair must have played at least five times in the preceding twelve months. Handicaps are calculated on all results in that period and are unweighted. The idea is that everyone has an equal chance of winning simply by performing better than normal.

The trophy is in memory of Roy Mitchell who had a huge hand in founding the club, taught several members and played most weeks with his wife Ruth until he became too ill. He is missed by all.
